Are you AT school?

There are a whole lot of jobs in this industry that are available to people straight out of school. HSC is not essential. Particular subjects are not essential. Particular grades are not essential.

You can start in the industry with no formal qualifications as a Site Hand, or as a Graduate Engineer. You can do an Apprenticeship, a Traineeship, or you can just take a job and see where it takes you. There are so many options, and they don’t stop once you start.

The amazing thing about this industry is the flexibility it gives you. The skills are invaluable and will prepare you for work in just about any industry.

What is essential is a willingness to learn, the sense to keep yourself and your teammates safe, and the desire to enjoy your work.

Doing something directly related to civil?

If you are doing civil, structural, mechanical engineering or some other qualification directly related to our industry (e.g. Project Management), you may be wondering how you can turn your theory into practice.

We hope this site can help you with that! Read on…

Not doing civil, but want to work in a great industry?

If you are studying a qualification that is not specifically related to civil, and are looking for an industry to move into, then you will be wise to look at civil construction. Like any business, we need finance, accounting, legal, human resources, and administrative specialists.

What makes our industry so attractive is the job security, diversity, and growth opportunities. Oh…and the remuneration.

We hope this site can help convince you this is THE industry to launch your professional working life in!

Are YOU out of school?

It’s never too late to transition into this industry. We are always looking for sensible people to commence the next phase of their working lives. The types of roles available varies tremendously in our industry.

Just like someone leaving school, you can start in the industry with no formal qualifications as a Site Hand. You can do an Apprenticeship, a Traineeship, or you can just take a job and see where it takes you. There are so many options, and they don’t stop once you start.

For PARENTS and CARE GIVERS

You want the best for your kids. You want them to be safe, secure, and to make the right decisions with their futures, and not be boxed in by the odd bad one they will make. You want to give them the best chance to be all they can be.

Tough job, being a parent.

So here is our pitch…

This is a great industry.

If they want it, your children will have a flexible career for life, not just a job.

They will be paid extremely well. They will be safe… we are an industry that demands strict safety standards be met.

They will have so many options…and they will be their options. They can grow and be anything they want. The skills they will learn they can take anywhere, into any industry. And they can do it all at their pace.

In this industry we value, and so welcome, those that are capable and competent. There are always people in every industry who can’t get out of the dark ages, but as a rule, we don’t care about gender, skin colour or religion. We need people too much and have too many other important things to focus on. We have highways to build, harbours to repair, railway tracks to lay, and tunnels to bore.

And finally… this industry will never go away. Our work is always needed, and the bigger the population, the more the need for us.

Look into it, and you will find an exciting, secure, safe, opportunity-rich environment.  Discover more about the types of jobs that are available and the way they join into a career by clicking the button below.
